I have been visiting the Pear Tree for many years (I remember standing on the chair on my 11th birthday with everyone singing happy birthday in French to me … Im now 25!) this place is an old favourite. The menu doesn’t change much and its simple but if it ain’t broken and all that … Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend if you fancy something a little different. Very good value and always delicious. Just be warned to book a table!
Having lived in the midlands all of my life I can’t believe I haven’t heard about this place before. My friend and I went for pancakes and we weren’t disappointed. The menu is a really nice mix of sweet and savoury and the restaurant itself has a lovely charm about it. I’ll certainly be visiting again.
Came here a week ago with a couple of my friends. I chose the mushroom stroganoff and it was amazing, really fresh hot food and very well priced, will definitely be coming again soon.
Came here with two friends to try it out, have been coming back since! I’d recommend the set menu, and I’ve always had something different each time I’ve come here. I love the atmosphere, its something completely different. The salads are amazing – I think its their dressing – which you can buy from here! Also – try the french onion soup.. beauitful. You think – ahhh this won’t fill me up.. trust me – you are stuffed when you leave!
Pear Tree fast becoming one of our favourite restaurants, even with a 40 mile round trip. The food is always fresh, piping hot and great value. We like the little touches like continuing to sell the wine we like (even if its not on the wine list) and giving us the table we prefer. Staff always very pleasant and welcoming. Looking forward to the next visit in a couple of weeks.
Super to have a “light lunch” menu which is refreshingly different. The food was excellent as was the service and the ambience. The bill was very reasonable as well. Do go and try a pancake or two sometime.
We went to the Pear Tree Creperie for my wife’s birthday lunch, the service was prompt and very accommodating! The coffee was dry French and the best I’ve had on the uk to date. I had the breakfast crepe, very nice, followed by the ice cream crepe! Very yummy I asked for a extra scoop of ice cream on top which was very nice, it was very reasonable and a great experience!
Fantastic freshly cooked food, starter limited to French Onion Soup but extremely nice, would recommend the cheese and ham with pineapple Gallette. A three course meal is very reasonably priced and FILLING ! Beautiful courtyards of shops surrounding the Cafe to browse before or after eating. Extremely busy so would recommend booking although we turned up without a reservation and got seated straight away. Plenty of parking.Worth visiting and will visit again !
